More than 50 people have reportedly died after a gunman opened fire at a Las Vegas concert.
In what has been described as the worst mass shooting incident in the history of the US, 200 other people have been injured after a 64-year-old man named Stephen Paddock sprayed bullet from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino on Sunday, October 1.
More than 100s of rounds of bullets were sprayed by the attacker who was later subdued, at concert-goers in Las Vegas.
It was later confirmed that the gunman was a lone wolf and a local. He was shot dead a few minutes after he sent down a volley of bullets from a room in the top-most floor of the hotel.
The motive of the attacks are yet to be understood but the police have located Paddock’s 62-year-old partner, Marilou Danley. However, they later revealed she was no longer a person of interest as Paddock seemed to have worked alone.
There were more than 40,000 people at the Route 91 Harvest Festival concert when Paddock began raining down the bullets. The time was little after 10 pm. Once Paddock was shot down, his room was found to be inundated with a plethora of firearms.
One of the survivors, Kat Phifer described the attacks on her Facebook page:
British tennis player Laura Robson was one of people who were at the concert, has said she is safe but in state of shock.
She said in a social media post:
“I’m okay. We were right there..sounded like fireworks at first then everyone started running. Scary.”
Robson had gone to Las Vegas to watch Gennady Golovkin take on Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez in a boxing match at the T-Mobile Arena.
